Hi Everyone,
I'm sorry, I couldn't join the discussion sooner.
Regarding the book size and format. I thought that it would be interesting too to have a different kind of formats as opposed to the standard comic book size. Like Nele proposed to have a Box cover with our separate comics inside it.
We are going to have at least 10 pages (12 pages) each, and (I think it was Powil that mentioned) when folded it's going to be 5-6 pages for each comics. If we separate it, it would look like a thin pamphlet or brochure.
For the size, I believe the A4 is the standard paper size, and most probably we will work within the format A4, A3 and so on. I don't see any problem of upscale or downscale these size into bigger or smaller size as long as it's within the same dimension. It's nice to see our comic in a slightly smaller size than the A4 too.
When it come to the format and size, I think it shouldn't be any problem to ask the printer to do according to our specs and requirement. They can even do the boxes and fold it and they can also do smaller paper size, special printing, etc... But my concern is, all these things is possible to do but it will definitely required extra costs with the printers. How much extra, I couldn't be sure exactly. I really hope it'll be within our budget, otherwise, we have to be prepared to pay extra for the printing cost.
What do you think everyone, should we discuss further about the book design and printing once we meet up in Berlin later? Maybe by then, we'll already have all the artworks in hand and we can look for the suitable printing formats and the book presentation.
For now, maybe we can start with using the A4 or maybe A3 paper size?
Let me know everyone!
